East Africa Elephant campaign walk March 2016

According to African elephant specialist group http//elephantdatabase.org Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda has lost 82,577 between 2002 and 2013 from a population of 134,506. Tanzania alone lost 55,000 elephants during this period while Uganda and Kenya their population increased but not significant. This is the most recent survey however 2014 and 2015 have been regarded as the most merciless and elephant carnage in all the country.

The three countries have bore challenges due to their neighboring countries Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia and South Africa that are enjoying the down listing of their elephant population from Appendix I to II giving them an opportunity to trade with live elephant and ivory trade. Either of these country is safe if they work alone due the cross-border elephant movement and thus they have to look into aspects of coming together politically, socially and now identify an integrated wildlife poaching and mechanism action plan. I am taking this upon myself God help me here….. to bring these 3 countries together by walking from Nairobi Capital, Kampala Uganda Capital – Dar Es Salaam Capita and back to Nairobi come March 2016 covering 3000km .

I have walked in 8 states in US and now here in Kenya uniting wildlife conservation, educating and bringing local communities as well as corporation into this call and have walked 5,261km. The above statistics are bellowing and it’s replicate that of other wildlife therein, who is out there to make this a reality.
