Yesterday afternoon I addressed a group of local philanthropists at State House who donated towards assisting Kenyans facing drought. The team presented cheques to H.E the First Lady who received the over 22 million shillings donations on behalf of KRCS in the presence of Dr. Abbas Gullet, the Sec Gen.
I reminded the delegation that drought affects both people and wildlife who live together and share same resources. I appreciated them for coming together for humanity and urged them to also support wildlife and habitats therein.
With my board of directors,( Salim Ahmed Umar, Muzzafar Khan, Jacquiline Wahu and in attendance was my Bishop Manaseh Kamau) we later had an exclusive meeting with H.E the First Lady (photos coming soon), where we thanked her for support in my initiative and showing national leadership in wildlife conservation. ” I am with many projects but Jim be assured elephants are my babies too and have mentioned this to you before”, the First Lady said.
We presented to her our recently launched “Ivory Belongs to Elephants Campaign Walk” Documentary.
The importance of elephants in this nation is of great significance and we need support from all sectors to conserve this great icon and wildlife at large which is our heritage.
