Day 18 – 21st JUNE 2016
My walk into Tanzania continues to inspire and propel me to another level in preaching the gospel of Elephant conservation to the people directly affected by the human/ wildlife conflict.
I’m overwhelmed by the incredible support extended to my team and I by the people I have been privileged to meet in Tanzania.
Today I covered 23 Kilometres from Hai to Moshi, after I was flagged off by the District Commissioner of the region.
The wall was tough, as the road was steep. The challenged was lessened with the accompaniment of couple of friends from Kilimanjaro Animal CREW who walked with me all the way after hosting us last night.
I later paid a courtesy call to Ahsante Tours a company that has supported us in a big way by giving us their Land Cruiser that serves as support vehicle.
I have so far covered 346Km and now inching step by step to cover a massive 546km left to Dar es Salaam.
The support I have received from Tanzania is absolutely incredible. Their tour companies have chipped in in a special way that has left me humbled. This is a major statement that they are willing to go full hog and support this worthy cause.
This has contributed immensely to making our walk record tremendous achievements.
